Urban Knit by Todd van der Kruik for Milliken, Spartansburg, SC, explores the trend-setting practice of “yarn bombing,” which describes artistic installations of crochet coverings on existing objects. This new collection brings that aesthetic to the commercial interior in a playful yet exuberant way.
A series of textures give a knitted feel in horizontal and vertical planes. With a 6 foot by 6 foot pattern repeat, the floor highlights a randomized look. Total recycled content of tiles ranges from 45% to 55%. The colorline coordinates directly with the company’s Monuments & Shrines collection and has cross-over companions to Southern Analog and Sound and Fury.
